Missions

Each ticket runs as a mission.

A mission is the checklist a ticket has to get through. The agent works the steps in order. By Dawn checks each one itself, and the next step stays shut until the last one holds.

Phases and steps

The checklist a careful engineer would hold the work to.

Missions run in phases, and each step needs proof before it counts.

  1. Plan, build, verify, shipMissions run through plan, design, build, verify and ship, and your org can define phases of its own.
  2. An agent can’t mark its own homeworkAn agent never ticks its own step. By Dawn runs the check itself, against the commit being proved, and records what it saw.
  3. Three tries, then it asksEach step gets up to three attempts. If it still won’t pass, the agent stops and asks you, with its log attached. Nothing merges.
Where you come in

Checkpoints, questions and notes.

A mission stops where a person ought to decide, and you can talk to it while it runs.

  1. CheckpointsBefore any code gets written, a mission can wait for you to agree the plan or pick a mockup.
  2. Needs youQuestions from all your agents wait in one list, so nothing sits blocked without anyone knowing.
  3. Steer it mid-runSend a note while it’s working. The agent takes it on board and keeps going.
The session cockpit

Watch it work, or take over.

Each running session has a cockpit that shows what the agent sees and does.

  1. Feed, terminal, browser, changesFollow the agent’s feed and terminal, the browser it’s driving, the desktop, its changes and the code, next to its plan and how far through it is.
  2. Pause, stop, or take overPause after the current tool, stop and ask for a summary, or abandon the run. You can also take over the browser it’s driving.
How it works

How a mission runs

  1. PlanThe agent proposes a plan; a checkpoint can wait for you.
  2. BuildIt works the steps, with your docs and memory.
  3. VerifyTests, a review panel and screenshots, each proved by By Dawn.
  4. ShipA pull request with its proof attached.
Questions

Asked about missions.

What happens when an agent can’t finish?

Each step gets up to three attempts. If it still won’t pass, or the agent needs a decision, it stops and asks in Needs you, with its log attached.

Can we change the steps?

Yes. Your org can define its own phases, and each project its own mission settings.

Next · ProveThe review panel →A panel of reviewers reads each diff and posts findings on the pull request. A fix agent answers each one.
