Announcement

Introducing By Dawn.

Coding agents that work through the night on your own machines. Each step gets checked, and there’s a pull request waiting for you in the morning.

Every team has the list. The flaky test nobody owns, the export that times out on big accounts, the dependency three versions behind, the small feature a customer asked for twice. None of it is hard. All of it waits, because the day fills up with everything else.

By Dawn is for that list. You write the tickets in the evening, the way you’d brief a colleague. Agents pick them up overnight on computers you choose and work through them, and By Dawn checks each step against the standard you set. By morning there’s a pull request with the proof attached, and you review it over coffee.

Why “By Dawn”

The name is the promise. Plan it tonight. Ship it by dawn: not “soon”, not “eventually”, but by the time you’re back at your desk.

It also reads as a byline. Work signed by Dawn is work done by a teammate who shows up every night, does what the ticket says, and tells you plainly what it couldn’t do. We wanted software that works unattended to feel calm and trustworthy, like first light, not like a dashboard full of alarms.

What happens overnight

Every ticket follows a mission, the list of steps a careful senior engineer would hold the change to. The tests and build have to pass. A review panel reads the diff, and every comment gets an answer. Anything a person will see gets screenshots in two browsers. You pick the steps, and By Dawn checks them.

An agent can’t mark its own homework. Each step is checked by the system or decided by you, and the next only opens when the last one holds.

When something can’t be done (a missing credential, an ambiguous requirement, a test that fails for reasons outside the change), the agent stops and says so. You won’t find a guess dressed up as finished.

Your machines, your keys

Agents run where you put them: a build box under the desk, a Mac mini in a cupboard, a cloud VM you already pay for. They sign in to the model provider with your own subscription or API key and call it directly. By Dawn isn’t in that path, not even for encrypted traffic.

What By Dawn coordinates is end-to-end encrypted. Machines carry hardware-bound identities, and every action lands in a tamper-evident audit log the whole team can read. We sell coordination, not tokens: your model usage is between you and your provider.
